NOTE: This car was listed as an ex Santa Fe RPO but we have been informed by the Seller that it is a former Rock Island Car.
Built by the Budd Company as a Railway Post Office car for the Rock Island Railroad, retired by the Rock Island and eventually purchased by the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad and converted into a work car with a shop built vestibule installed on one end. Some of the mechanical details include: Stainless steel body, ISSH, grease bearings, tread brakes, truck mounted cylinders, cast shoes, CS couplers, short carbody (60' long), ABDW brakes (missing valves), good wheels. This car would make a great conversion to a power car or concession car for a tourist operation.
