Silver Bronco
NEW

Built in 1948 as a dome coach by the Budd Co for the Denver
& Rio Grande Western Railroad as their contribution to the
jointly operated and world famous California Zephyr. After
the discontinuance of the California Zephyr the Rio Grande
retained ownership of the car and eventually sold it into
private ownership. The Silver Bronco is in very original
condition, it has never been owned by Amtrak and is an
incredibly complete car. Interior hardware is in tact, seats
have been removed but are still in the car. It is capable of
moving in freight service (last move was 4 years ago)
although it will need a COT&S. Some of the car's mechanical
details include: Great exterior, H couplers, original 32v
D/C electrical system, steam heat, electro-mechanical air
conditioning, ISSH, Timken 6 x 11 grease bearings, D-22
valves, C-frame disc brakes, serviceable wheels, skirts
intact, drop equalizers, pretty dry interior ( just a few
small leaks), light fixtures intact, when seats are
reinstalled car will seat 46 down stairs and 24 in the dome.
Silver Bronco is a very restorable car and would make a
great car for a tourist operation or as a conversion to a
Private Car.
PRICE: $149,000
