Built in 1949 by the Budd Company as a 10 roomette/6 double bedroom sleeping car for the New York Central Railroad. Eventually owned by Penn Central and then Amtrak who retired the car in the 1980's and sold it into private ownership. The current owner began the conversion into a private car and removed 6 roomettes to create a small lounge. The other four roomettes and 6 double bedrooms are intact. Some of the mechanical details include: Good stainless body, H couplers, D-22 brakes with tread comp shoes (cylinders have been bushed), ISSH, truck mounted cylinders, 12.5 KW Diesel Thermoking generator, grease bearings (1 Hyatt, 3 Timken), good to excellent wheels, good interior, floor & over head heat, small Microphore caboose holding tank.
