Built in 1925 by the Pullman Company for John Pierpont "Jack" Morgan Jr, son of the world famous banker and industrialist J.P Morgan.  The Morgan family eventually sold the car to the C&O Railroad in 1937. Sold by the railroad into private ownership and restored to reflect the glory of the Morgan empire.

Entering from the platform end of the car, the first room is the elegant wood paneled observation lounge. From the lounge there is a passageway that leads past a single bedroom, general restroom/shower, a large master suite with two convertible sofa beds, a compartment, formal dining room and a pantry and kitchen,

Some of the mechanical details include: H couplers, Steel construction, composition shoes, tread brakes, truck mounted cylinders, grease bearings, OSSH trucks, good wheels, D/C electrical system, 240v standby, rubber diaphragms, some side sheet corrosion on kitchen end, drop equalizer trucks, D-22 valves, steam heat, fair roof, original interior, car has interior water damage below windows on hall side of car.

Erie #400 is a very original and complete car, it can move on it's own wheels but will need a full COT&S and made compliant with railroad interchange standards.
