Seaboard Air Line Dining Car #6112
Built by the Budd Company for the Seaboard Air Line Railroad as a stainless steel dining car. Ownership was transferred to the Seaboard Coast Line and later Amtrak who retired the car and sold it into private ownership. Some of the mechanical details include: Excellent body & roof, ISSH trucks, APEE bearings, tread brakes, DC electrical system (if you have some experience with D/C systems you can run the motor generator off of 240v 3 phase to run the d/c systems), good wheels, 110v standby, H couplers, 48 seat dining room, full stainless kitchen (original stove removed and ready for new stove & ovens), ABDW brake valves, built in refrigerators. Would work great for dinner train or stationary service.
