Built in 1971 by Canadian National Railroads Point Charles shop. Sold into private ownership in 1994 and converted into a ticket office. The car does not sit on roller bearing trucks and will have to be trucked from current location. The caboose is connected to commercial power, water & sewer. And is equipped with air conditioning and heat. Overall the car is in excellent original condition. A- The cost to ship a caboose by truck is based on mileage and local crane costs. On an average, you can expect to spend a minimum of $8,000-$10,000 if a car is 1 to 2 hours from the final destination. And a minimum of $15,000-$25,000 if the car is further away. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and we do have several qualified companies we can recommend to assist in the shipping process. If the buyer plans on making the shipping arrangements with a service provider of their choosing, we can assist with speaking with the service provider on what will be required to get the car moved. Often a service provider will either quote high or won't quote at all if they have never moved railroad equipment. After speaking with us, they normally feel more at ease in quoting the job.
