Originally built for the Canadian National Railroad, Canadian Pacific Railroad, Boston & Maine Railroad & Dominion Atlantic Railway. Ten of the cars were completely remanufactured by GE/Alstrom in 1997 and the rebuilding included new Propulsion Systems (2-Cummins Model NTA-855 rated at 340 HP each), Electrical, HVAC, Air Brakes and Auxiliary Power Units. Cars #6130 & 6202 and were updated with new Electrical, Airbrakes, Cummins Engines (m/n NTA-855), Food Service and & ADA accessibility.
