Built in 1952 by Baldwin Locomotive as a S12 switcher for the U.S. Navy, transferred to the U.S. Air Force in 1961 and stationed at Hill Air Force Base. The locomotive has was stored serviceable inside a shop building since the early 1990's. The locomotive is equipped with a 6 cylinder turbo charged Baldwin 606A prime mover rated at 1,200 HP, friction bearings, good wheels, mechanically complete, block heater. #1863 is a very intact and complete locomotive.
