Built as a wood sided (circa 1920's-1930's) ice refrigerator car for the Fruit Growers Express company and used to ship fruit & vegetables from the fertile farms of the west coast to the dinner tables of the mid-west and east coast. Sold into private ownership by Fruit Growers Express to a museum who restored the car and converted the interior into a museum display area and installed outlets & lighting. All interior walls and ceiling have been polyurethaned, 120v electrical service installed, commercial carpeting installed, has steel under frame, wood siding & doors (car is in very good condition but does need some spot work on the exterior wood siding which is tongue & groove), AB brakes, friction bearings, large ice bunkers, good roof (car does not leak). This car would make a great addition to any museum, gift shop or as a unique back yard work shop.
