Built circa 1890 as wood track flanger for the Central Vermont Railroad. Retired by the CV in the 1960's and sold into private ownership. Purchased by folk singer Utah Phillips in the 1970's and converted into living quarters, while he recorded his album at Philo Records in Monkton Vermont. The car is in overall good condition and the siding has been replaced in recent years on both sides.
