Built in 1959 by EMD for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a GP9 Locomotive and was originally numbered #7249. Ownership transferred to Penn Central after the New York Central/Pennsylvania Railroad merger and finally to Conrail. Retired by Conrail in 1999 and sold to the Deferiet Paper Company of Deferiet, NY. In 2000 the unit was shipped to South Carolina for a complete rebuild. At this time the locomotive received all new wiring, new trucks supplied from Progress Rail among other improvements. Some of the mechanical details include: Great wheels, good adhesion, owner started to reinstall the dynamic brakes which is complete except for the blower but it is included in sale, 26L brakes, AAR control stand, Kim Hot Start, D-77 motors, full MU, Blue Carded, time left on air brakes as of Aug 2017, last oil change Sep 2015, last 92 day inspection 8/8/16, does not have alignment control couplers.
