****Before you can place a bid you must submit a $500 deposit by credit card to access the bidding page. If you win an auction, the $500 will be deducted from your auction total or refunded to your card. If you do not have a winning bid, your deposit will be refunded to your card within 48 hours after the end of the auction.
****No false bidding, if you place false bids, your deposit will not be refunded.
****Any and all inspections must be completed before the end of the auction.
**** All bids are in $1,000.00 increments.
**** You can place a max bid and our site will automatically increase your bid in $1,000.00 increments until your max bid has been reached.
**** You will receive an email for each bid you place, when you have been out bidded and if you win or lose the auction after closing.
**** Palm Lane is sold "As Is Where Is" and will have to be trucked from it's current location.
**** Sale will include a $1,500.00 Buyer's Premium.
**** The car will need to be moved from seller's property in a timely manner.
**** Bidding opens November 17th at 8:00 a.m. (cst) and closes on November 18th at 5:00 pm (cst) . If you are the winning bidder, after an auction ends we will contact you for your sales contract information. A sales contract will be issued via Docusign for review and digital signature. Payment will be made via wire transfer and all the wire details will be included with the sales contract. Once payment has been received, a bill of sale will also be posted to Docusign. After the bill of sale is signed, the transaction is complete and you will be responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements.
Built in 1929 as a 3 compartment/1 drawing room/buffet/lounge/sun room observation car for use in Pullman general pool service. Pullman retired and sold the car in 1956 to Strates Shows and renamed Syracuse and used as lodging in the traveling carnival show. Retired by Strates shows and sold into private ownership. Palm Lane is a very original car with only a few minor interior modifications. Some of the car details include: Good body and roof, friction bearings, cast shoes, drop equalizer trucks, E couplers, serviceable wheels. Car will have to be shipped by truck or flatcar.
Q-How much does it cost to ship a passenger car by truck?
The costs involved with shipping a passenger car will vary a bit depending on the type of car and the equipment the service provider has and of course the distance it must travel. Normally a passenger car will weigh between 60-85 ton, will be approx. 85' long, ten feet wide and approx. 13-15' high sitting on it's trucks (wheel assemblies). The safest method of shipping will be to lift the car off it's trucks and set one end of the car on the back of a semi truck and the other end of the car on a set of road dollies. So basically the car would be pulled down the highway like a trailer. The trucking company will need to make a second trip to pick up the trucks and deliver them to the site before the truck arrives with the car body. It is recommended that the car be set on a short piece of track since that is how the car structure was designed. You normally can find used railroad ties at landscaping companies and for rail we suggest contacting a local railroad museum, shortline railroad or scrap yard. On an average you can expect to spend a minimum of $10,000-$15,000+. The total price will depend on the trucking company and crane companies in the area. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and we are more than happy to discuss the project with any service provider so that fully understand the process.
