Built by the Budd Company in 1950 for the Wabash Railroad and used on their famed train the Blue Bird. Ownership transferred to the Norfolk & Western Railroad when the N&W absorbed the Wabash in 1966. Retired by the N&W and sold to Amtrak, retired by Amtrak and sold into private ownership.

Some of the mechanical details include: Stainless steel construction, excellent body, HEP (3 wires one side), 30KW Duetz diesel generator (will run entire car, approx 1,000 hrs), NEW electrical locker, electric floor heat, 16 ton air conditioning system, NEW holding tanks, 500 gal capacity water tanks, own large restroom (other has not been finished), grease bearings, good wheels & profiles, H couplers, emergency lights (in place needs to be wired), D-22 valves, comp shoes, 1 tube diaphragm and one original, all coach windows meet Transport Canada's regulations, lower dome windows FRA type II, updated seats, NEW carpet & upholstery, ISSH trucks, bushed cylinders, Johnston Control HVAC system.
