Built in 1937 by the Budd Co as a Barber Shop, Buffet, Lounge, Dormitory car for the Santa Fe Railroad. Used on their premier train the Super Chief. Sold to Amtrak in 1972 and later into private ownership. Rebuilt into a table car, original bar area and barber shop converted into a kitchen/prep area, dormitory room is largely intact but now has a small office at one end. Some of the car's mechanical details include: Stainless steel construction, good carbody, CS couplers, tread brakes w/cast shoes, grease roller bearings, ISSH, double bar equalizers, truck mounted cylinders, good wheels, diesel fuel tank, UC valves, holding tanks, air conditioning & over head heat, wired for 1/2 HEP, 35KW diesel generator, 480v transformer, 1 public restroom and 1 crew restroom in dormitory, elegant lounge/dining area, updated electrical system Kitchen is equipped with BeverageAir refrigerator, stainless steel shelving for stemware, ice well, drinking water tap, warming ovens, 1 well steam table, sink.
