Built by the Budd Co in 1947, for the New York Central Railroad as a 2900 series coach. The car was in the process of being converted into a lounge and upgraded to meet Amtrak mechanical requirements when the project was stopped. The 40 year truck rebuild was almost completed (several minor items need to be finished). The interior was being rebuilt into a spacious lounge with a kitchen located at one end. The former washroom was converted into a toilet/shower with room for a washer & dryer. Although the interior of the car is currently unfinished, it can easily be turned into a stunning Art Deco lounge or any type of interior decor that you choose.
Some of the cars mechanical features include, 27 pin, HEP, new APEE bearings, ISSH, tread brakes, new condensing unit, holding tanks, new window band, electric floor heat, Microphor toilets, commercial refer & microwaves, North West Electric gen-set panel, new electric locker, new Stadco generator
