Built in 1948 by the Pullman Company for St. Louis & San Francisco (FRISCO) Railroad as a dining car. Built for service on the joint FRISCO/KATY streamliner the "Texas Special".  Sold by the FRISCO in to the Great Northern Railroad in 1966 and renamed Lake Pepin. Retained by the Burlington Northern after the BN/GN merger (never sold to Amtrak), sold into private ownership in 1979. Used in the Worlds Fair Daylight excursion to New Orleans in 1984 and operated behind the famed Southern Pacific 4449 steam locomotive. Some of the mechanical details include: Good body & roof, H couplers, ISSH trucks, truck mounted cylinders, D-22 valves, DC electrical, steam heat, original kitchen, grease bearings,  Waukesha air conditioning, decelostats, nice interior, dining room seats 48, propane stove. Would make a great addition to any dinner train or for stationary use.
