Northern Pacific Dome Table Car #310
Built in 1954 by the Budd Company for the Northern Pacific Railroad as a sleeper dome car. Ownership transferred to Burlington Northern after the merger of Western Pacific and the Burlington Railroad in 1970, renumbered #1442. Retired by the BN in 1970 and sold into private ownership. Rebuilt for dinner train service by current owner in 2008. Some of the mechanical details include: Great body & roof, 72 seat capacity, disc brakes, 2-Stadco 150KW generators (generators can back feed to HEP to power other cars), Head End Power (480v), air conditioning, heat, restrooms, bar & kitchen (with commercial appliances), holding tank, 26-C brake valves, disc brakes, custom interior wood paneling, H couplers, 27 pin, markers, Northwest Rail Electric panels, OSSH trucks, sound system. NOTE: This car is in operational condition, the tarp on the dome was installed to help protect the car from winter weather.
