16,000 Gal Tank Car
Florida East Coast Box Car #3760
Derrick Train Box Car, we do not have any history on the car other than it was a support car for a Florida East Coast Railroad wreck derrick train. Some of the car details include: Good body & roof, roller bearings in friction bearing boxes (due to use of friction bearing boxes the car can not be interchanged and will have to be loaded on a truck or flat car), far wheels, steel construction. The interior of the car was converted into a work shop. The contents of the car are not included with the sale.
Freight Car Shipping FAQ
Q- How much does it cost to ship a freight car by truck?
A- The cost to ship a freight car by truck is based on mileage and local crane costs. On an average, you can expect to spend a minimum of $8,000-$10,000 if a car is 1 to 2 hours from the final destination. And a minimum of $15,000-$25,000 if the car is further away. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and we do have several qualified companies we can recommend to assist in the shipping process. If the buyer plans on making the shipping arrangements with a service provider of their choosing, we can assist with speaking with the service provider on what will be required to get the car moved. Often a service provider will either quote high or won't quote at all if they have never moved railroad equipment. After speaking with us, they normally feel more at ease in quoting the job. We do recommend to check with your local municipality to make sure there are no property restrictions or zoning issues that would prohibit placement of a railcar on your property. Feel free to use some photos from our site and show the municipality what your project entails.
