Built circa 1950 by ALCO for the New York Central Railroad as an RS3 road switcher as #8263. Ownership transferred to Penn Central Railroad and was renumbered to #5263. Eventually sold to Amtrak and repowered with an EMD 645-C block which reduced it from 1,600 HP to 1,200 HP and designated as an RS3M. Used in switching service for Amtrak and finally retired and sold into private ownership. Some of the physical/mechanical attributes include EMD block, MU, cast shoes, good to fair wheels, rotating end cap & oil bath bearings, E couplers, older control stand, 26 brake, radiator shutters and bad ordered radiator core included.
