GP-10 Locomotive Number 7236. Built as a GP-9 for the Pennsylvania Railroad by the General Motors Corporation in 1959, the locomotive was rebuilt and rewired by Conrail in 1979 into a GP-10. During the GP10 conversion, the locomotive received mechanical and electrical upgrades. While the core 567 engine block remained, 7236's rebuild incorporated components from the newer EMD 645 power assemblies (cylinder liners, pistons, and heads) to increase horsepower from 1,750 hp to approximately 1,800 hp. The locomotive has had a block heater installed, as well as a camera system on the long hood to assist the engineer's view. The locomotive was acquired by the seller in 2016, received new paint in 2018. Some additional details include good wheels, Hyatt oil roller bearings, 26-C air brake valves, current Blue Card, in operating condition, occasionally shuts down due to low oil pressure, two worn out crankshaft main bearings, and at least one rough crankshaft journal.
