Built in 1950 by American Car & Foundry for the mid-century edition of  Great Northern Railroads famed train the “Empire Builder”. Eventually sold to Amtrak  in 1971, and after Amtrak retired the car it was sold to a private owner. The car does not include trucks/wheels and is missing misc. mechanical equipment and most of the interior has been removed. The overall body is in very good condition and the car would make a great display car or conversion for a restaurant, etc.
