Built as Conrail 1904, B23-7 #4201 was taken out of daily service in September, 2016, just after a fresh FRA 92-day and 1104 air brake inspection was completed; as a result, 4201 is just about ready to go back to work with virtually all Out of Service credit available to a new operator. The locomotive is equipped with alignment control coupler pockets/couplers allowing for easy interchange.
#4201 is equipped with a 2,250 h.p. GE 7FDL12-RM diesel engine, serial number 830901, remanufactured in July, 1984; a new turbocharger and several new power assemblies had been recently applied. Locomotive has a 5GTA11C2 alternator, serial number 8413709, a 5GY27 auxiliary generator and Westinghouse 3DCD air compressor. Powered by GE 752-E8 traction motors, wheels are 2 1/2" or better; the locomotive is equipped with ditch lights, an AAR control stand and has both hot water and electric side wall heat.
