Built in 1955 by the Budd Company as a Rail Diesel Car (RDC) for the Boston & Maine Railroad, operated on the B&M until retired and sold to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority and operated in commuter service out of Boston, MA. Retired by the MBTA and sold into private ownership. This is a 100% complete car and last operated in 2008. Some of the mechanical details include: Good body & roof, H couplers, good wheels, SKF bearings, original and complete electrical lockers, restroom with holding tank, control stands at both ends of car, drive shafts still installed (will need to be removed before car is shipped), original DC air conditioning, hot water heat (from engines), original GM engines, PA system, seats 90 passengers, walkover seats, D22 valves, disc brakes. The car has been stored indoors and will take very little to put back into service.
