Originally built in 1955 by Canadian Car & Foundry as the sleeper Bonavista for the Canadian National Railroad's operations on the New Foundland Railway, was used in regular passenger service on their train the "Caribou". Sleeping car service on the island ended in 1969 and the car was then stored. In the 1970's the railroad decided it need to replace it's wood business car Terra Nova I, so in 1979 the car was rebuilt into a business car configuration at CN's shops in St. Johns New Foundland. The car was used by the railroad until end of operations in 1988. The floor plan consists of a large observation lounge/dining room, 3 bedrooms (one was converted to a toilet but upper berth still in place), pantry and kitchen. The car is land locked and the air brake system and water tanks have been removed from the car. Some of the mechanical details include: Oil fired hot water heat, propane stove, weight approx 27 ton, length 62', width 8'9", height 9'2", 42" gauge, E couplers, good roof and body, grease bearings, ISSH, stainless kitchen.
