Built in 1948 by the Pullman Company for the Santa Fe Railroad as a 4 bedroom, 4 compartment, 2 drawing room sleeping car (sleeps 22 passengers). Sold to Amtrak in the 1970's and then into private ownership. Regal City is 99% complete and original. Some of the car's mechanical details include: CS Couplers, disc brakes, D-22 valves (valve portions are missing), grease bearings, OSSH, I beam equalizers, holding tanks, air conditioning, overhead heat, good wheels, decelostats, wired for 1/2 HEP, good interior paint, original furnishings, updated electrical system. Regal City would work great as a dinner train bed & breakfast, upgrade to Amtrak certification or museum display.
