New York Central "Caminada Bay"
Please note: This car interchanges to Union Pacific Railroad but approx. 100 ft of rail is missing between car and live rail.
Built in 1948 by the Pullman Company as a 22 roomette sleeper for the New York Central Railroad and operated on many flagship trains including the 20th Century Limited. In 1959 the car was sold to Canadian National Railroad and converted into a Daynighter coach. As CN phased out passenger service the car was sold to VIA Rail who retired the car and sold it into private ownership in 1988. The car is in overall good condition and still retains it's DC electrical system and steam heat. Some of the additional mechanical specs include: D-22 valves, rotating end cap bearings, ISSH trucks, truck mounted cylinders, fair wheels, cast shoes, good body and roof, small snack bar, original D/C electrical system. This car would make an excellent addition to any tourist railroad or dinner train.
