Southern Pacific Sleeper #2454
Built by the Budd Company in 1950 for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a 10 roomette/6 double bedroom sleeper and used in service on their famed train the Sunset Ltd. Sold by SP to Amtrak and eventually rebuilt into Amtrak's heritage fleet program, retired by Amtrak and sold into private ownership. Please note that the trucks currently on car are NOT included in the sale. Seller will provide a set of serviceable trucks and will install them under the car. 2/3 of the side sill repairs have been completed, at a list price sale seller will have the rest of the side sill repairs finished. Some of the mechanical details include: Great body, H couplers, disc brakes, 26-C valves, emergency lights, electric heat (floor & overhead), A/C, emergency windows, freeze protection, PA system, Amtrak electrical locker, 27 pin, MU, MR line, Head End Power, rubber diaphragms, interior renovations started but not completed.
