Ex-Amtrak 8511 diner. Ex-NYC 454, built by Budd in 1948 as grill diner. Rebuilt as Amtrak Heritage Fleet all-electric diner circa 1980. Sold by Amtrak in 2019. All stainless steel body. Full 480 volt HEP. 27 pin Communication trainline. 26CDW air brake schedule. Inside swing hanger tread brake trucks with 9? wheelbase. NFL APEE wheelset bearings. Tightlock couplers. All electric air conditioning, floor, and overheat heat. Electric ranges and refrigeration in kitchen. 48 seat capacity in dining room. Missing two booths, but have correct replacements available.
Car in generally good condition but will need new windows to replace worn plastic Lexan; light refurbishment of interior; and inspection and servicing of all mechanical systems. Water tank shroud needs replacement.
Car has current 4 year COT&S date of 10-21-19 and can move anywhere in the US in regular freight train service.
