Built in 1948 as a New York Central 22 roomette sleeper and named Gardiners Bay. Sold by the NYC to the Canadian National Railroad in 1959. CN rebuilt the car into a "Dayniter" long distance coach configuration in 1977. CN sold the car to VIA Rail and after several years of service the car was retired and sold into private ownership. Some of the car details include: Good-Fair Body & Roof, D-22 brake valves with composition tread brake shoes, D/C electrical system (some HEP work was started but not finished), seats 52 passengers, small lounge at one end of main room, fold out table trays, multiple broken windows and some water damage to floor, rotating end cap wheel bearings, good to great wheels, H couplers, locomotive style recirculating toilets, complete interior, OSSH trucks.
