Santa Fe High Level Transition Coach #39933 SOLD

Built in 1964 by the Budd Company for the Santa Fe Railway as a transition coach ( one end of car is standard car height and the other end is high level or superliner height) and numbered #733. Sold by the Santa Fe to Amtrak and rebuilt in Amtrak's heritage fleet program and was converted into a dormitory/coach. Retired by Amtrak in the 1990's and sold into private ownership in 2001. A conversion project to turn the car into a lounge was started but, the dorm area was removed and the large women's restroom on the lower level was removed when the project stopped. This car would make a great conversion to a high capacity lounge, table car or a full coach. Their are still two complete restrooms and a shower room so the large women's restroom that was removed would make an excellent kitchen or bar. Some of the mechanical details include: Stainless steel construction, HEP, 27 pin, MU, 26-C valves, disc brakes, CS  couplers, marker lights, emergency lights, floor heat, overhead heat, air conditioning, emergency windows, good wheels, APEE bearings, OSSH trucks, piped for decelostats, good body.
