Built by the Budd Co in 1937 for the Santa Fe Railroad as a 48 seat dining car, eventually sold to Amtrak in 1971 and retired and sold into private ownership in the early 1980's. The car has been used as a stationary display since the 1980's. The car is in original condition as retired from Amtrak and would make a great addition to any tourist/dinner train or museum. Some of the mechanical details include: Stainless body 110v electrical service, small hot air furnace, original kitchen, disc brakes, decelostats, OSSH, good wheels, D-22 valves, grease bearings. Car may need some truck and draft gear repairs.
